Icons

Post by brunogasparsc »

Hi everyone,
I'm making a "bottom bar" on my desktop, but even high resolution icons appear like they were low resolution. Why does it happen? How should I fix it?
Thanks.

Rainmeter isn't very good at scaling images natively. So if you take a high-res icon and set it's dimensions in Rainmeter, it might come out looking grainy depending on how much it was scaled.

What I do is resize my icons in an external app - either in GIMP or with something like FastStone Photo Resizer. It doesn't work if you want to be able to change the size of the dock/launcher on the fly, but if you have a set size that you like, it works best to scale the icons before using them in a skin.
