InputText Plugin wont work for me.

Post by Jkon »

Hello all.As the title say's,I cant get the textinput plugin to work.I have tried various bits of code that i have found in the forums including the code from the plugins help file and am currently using the code from Yelleke's search bar http://rainmeter.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6554.I simply cant get an input field to appear.
I'm running rainmeter 2.0 on vista 32bit.Is anyone else having problems with it or am i doing something wrong(most likely).

If you use the "Example Skin" exactly as it is in the manual, it won't work?

Code: Select all

[Rainmeter]
Update=1000
DynamicWindowSize=1

[Variables]
FirstVar=!RainmeterWriteKeyValue
SecondVar=!RainmeterSetVariable
FontSize=14

[MeterBackground]
Meter=Image
SolidColor=1E3A69FF
W=250
H=105

[MeasureInput]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=InputText.dll
SolidColor=76A0E8FF
FontColor=FFFFFF
FontFace=Seqoe UI
StringStyle=Italic
FontSize=#FontSize#
X=5
Y=5
H=25
W=240
DefaultValue="Change Me!"

Command1=!RainmeterWriteKeyValue Variables FirstVar "$UserInput$" "#CURRENTPATH#InputText.inc"
Command2=!RainmeterRefresh

Command3=!RainmeterSetVariable SecondVar "$UserInput$" Y=40 DefaultValue="Change Me Too!"

Command4=!Execute ["$UserInput$"] Y=75 DefaultValue="Text file path and name"

[MeterWriteKeyValue]
Meter=String
X=5
Y=5
FontSize=15
FontColor=255,255,255,255
AntiAlias=1
Text=#FirstVar#
LeftMouseUpAction=!RainmeterPluginBang "MeasureInput ExecuteBatch 1-2"

[MeterSetVariable]
Meter=String
X=5
Y=10R
FontSize=15
FontColor=255,255,255,255
AntiAlias=1
DynamicVariables=1
Text=#SecondVar#
LeftMouseUpAction=!RainmeterPluginBang "MeasureInput ExecuteBatch 3"

[MeterOpenEditor]
Meter=String
X=5
Y=10R
FontSize=15
FontColor=255,255,255,255
AntiAlias=1
DynamicVariables=1
Text=Open Text File
LeftMouseUpAction=!RainmeterPluginBang "MeasureInput ExecuteBatch 4"

Didn't answer my question though.

Does that example skin with NO changes, work?

Well, that's not good. Works for everyone else as far as I know. We need someone else on Vista to give it a go.

I've tried much simpler variations,just one basic input field called by a left click,but get nothing.

Ok. Well we need to get someone else on Vista 32bit to see if the issue is with the OS, or something specific to you.

That skin works like a champ here.

Make sure logging is turned on, then refresh the skin and try activating the text box again.

Then check the log and see if the is anything there.
