Rainmeter to show Tray icons (win7)

Is it possible to have Rainmeter show what programs have icons running in your taskbar tray? Essentially, I want to create a Taskbar free desktop, but I Can't bring myself to do it because then I have no way to close programs that like to hide there and other such things.

Can rainmeter do this?

No, Rainmeter cannot replace the taskbar functionality such as icons for running programs and such.

There's a few. ObjectDock and RocketDock are popular.

I love RocketDock, but i've never managed to find a working taskbar replacer for it

One last question.

Im a whore for Alt-Tab. Is it possible to Alt Tab to the desktop and not have Rainmeter dissapear?

You need to set the position of all your skins to "on desktop" through the skins context menu.
