I stopped customizing my desktop many years ago due to the fact that all we could really change (without going way WAY down the rabbit hole) was the general look of things. Icons, colors, etc. but the functionality of your desktop would always stay the same. Then, also many years ago, I switched over to Linux and left my windows machine behind.
Last year I decided to give Win7 a try. Today I found Rainmeter. I think I'm in love.
