hey everybody,
i want to use the gnometer facebook skin.
to make it work, i followed the intructions (gnometer-> settings.ini-> facebook) and pasted the url in that empty field.
then i saw on http://www.facebook.com/notifications.php where i copied the feed url, that i can set rainmeter to be my default rss feed program. i made it to be that because i thought it was a good idea.
after that, i noticed that the facebook skin doesnt work and i guess thats because i checked did set rainmeter to be the default program.
unfortunately, i cant find a way to uncheck that box on facebook.
when i klick the "via rss" button again an error notice appears which says
"the rainmeter.ini file is not writable..."
and then a rainmeter popup shows up that says
"there are no configs active. open the context menu from rainmeter's tray icon and select a config you want to use".
how can i select a config? when i mouseover "config" the context menu expands and i can enable/disable the facebook skin (or any other skin).
can anyone please tell me how to select a config or how to disable the "make rainmeter my default rss program" box on facebook?
thanks in advance!

Re: Gnometer Facebook skin doesn't work
ok, here's an update:
i found out how to change the default program for web feeds
(firefox-> tools-> options-> applications)
but still i have the facebook skin not working.
it displays only one fb-notification which is not even the latest...
refreshing the skin doesnt change anything, too.
so i still need help with this to show me the recent four/eight fb-notifications...
anyone who has an idea?
ps: i already tried this http://rainmeter.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6083 and the traffic light is green...

Try viewing that feed URL in your browser. Do you get more than the one item?McDontknow wrote:...and another update:

Re: Gnometer Facebook skin doesn't work
First of all thanks for the answer!
If I view the feed URL in my browser, I see the fb notification, the Rainmeter skin has displayed and three newer ones.
Now that I checked the fb skin again I noticed that it shows the most recent feed notification, too (so the two in between are missing).
Maybe it works now after I made Rainmeter not to be my default RSS program... I'll keep that in view.
Shouldn't the other two notifications be synchronized, too because they're displayed in my browser?

Okay, final update:
The fb skin works error free now
So, just don't make Rainmeter your default RSS Feed program...
