Nice article. Just some things that stands out...
Rainmeter is a free, open-source desktop environment... <-- That was news to me... As far as I know rainmeter only lets you add stuff to the current desktop, it does not replace the one that already exist...
...can integrate music and media players and files as well as Web-based resources like RSS feeds, video, and data streams. <-- I'm very eager to see how they got video working in rainmeter... We don't even support .gif so how the heck did they do it?
So yeah... Those are stuff I wonder about in that article...

Well, I have come to expect that these guys will do a "quick" review / test of the software and jump to some conclusions, and that they will in inevitably confuse Rainmeter itself and how it works with what ever skin they are testing (in this case Gnometer) and attribute a bunch of stuff that is really a capability of the skin / suite to Rainmeter.
Even so, it's certainly a positive review.
