picture frame across network

I've installed Rainmeter on my PC and now I'm working on my laptop. One of my favorite things are the picture frames. It's not a problem on the desktop machine, but I'm having a lot a trouble getting the path to the pictures right. I've tried \\hostname\pathname and mapping the drive to the laptop but nothing works, any tips would be appreciated.
