Could we get support for the various axes that variable fonts use? I was thinking something along the lines of
FontVariables=<axis> <value> | <axis> <value> | <axis> <value> | <axis> <value> | etc
So for example,
FontVariables=FILL 0 | GRAD 0 | opsz 24 | wght 400
Having support for variable fonts would really take text in Rainmeter to the next level, and it enables highly customizable text and icons.
Perhaps it would be nice to have this as an InlineSetting option too!

Re: Variable font support
What a coincidence, was searching just the other day for whether Rainmeter had implemented variable font support :) Among other things would be useful for being able to animate axis transitions via values and changing for example glyph widths while keeping the same overall consumed width of different strings.
Edit: forgot to add that another nice benefit would be much lower skin filesizes, for any that bundle typeface families with them. Something can go from being say 5MB for multiple styles down to just a few hundred KB if all the axes are in a single font file.
