Hi there !
I'm a full French newbie and this is my first post on this forum, so I apologise if I'm posting in the wrong sub-forum, if my questions sound dumb, and for my very approximative english.
I was wondering why VLC Media Player (open-source and multiplateform) is not included with Nowplaying, and if it was possible (and easy) to make it work ? Same question for Clementine, by the way, but this second one is much less popular.
Thank you for your time !

Re: VLC player in NowPlaying measure
I guess posting in this section of the forum could be alright if the post is interpreted as something along the lines of a "feature suggestion", but I'll let others weigh on moving it appropriately, if considering so.Sup4m0nkey wrote: ↑February 20th, 2024, 7:19 am Hi there !

As for answering your question, the developers know better, but it might depend on factors like VLC possibly having an unconventional way of sharing playback data and ways to control it to other software (if any, of course), since that would be needed in order to be supported by NowPlaying. Typically, what NowPlaying does relates to audio playback, so even though the supported Windows Media Player is a similar case that can play videos too, this might be a reason too. As a potential alternative, you could try WebNowPlaying and see if you have better luck in that regard:

Take into account though that WebNowPlaying also comes with certain "requirements" and "particularities" when it comes to supporting various player platforms (more info in that thread).
Or, you could google for "Rainmeter VLC player" and see what that leads too. This direction is not guaranteed to work with newer versions of VLC though. For example:
