I'm not sure how many heard the news recently but Imgur's ToS is set to change on May 15th and with it the policy to delete old (unclear how old) images with low views (unclear how few) from anonymous uploaders (those without an Imgur account). Most of the news of this though centered around the NSFW policy change that is also set to be introduced.
While many images on the forum use the attachment feature I've also seen images posted use Imgur instead. Someone with database access may possibly be able to grep how many Imgur links exist on the forums. Maybe it's not a large volume?
Just something to think about. Potentially might be useful to caution users against use of Imgur as an image and toward the attachment feature instead. I know some archiving efforts are also underway for some other forums to mitigate any fallout from 404'ing images.
