Soft Bevel
I'm not sure yet where I'm going with this. My goal is to create a GUI framework that tries to be a part of the wallpaper instead of living on top of it.

I registered a forum account literally to reply here and say that I totally love the Trinity background in the first image. I haven't seen those movies in years, but instantly recognized it!
