Autohide taskbar only on one screen

Post by Exel3838 »

Hey there,
I'm quite new to rainmeter and don't realy have any experience with coding etc.
I've been dealing with the problem lately that I want to have a taskbar on all of my 3 screens. but only one of them should be always visible. the other two should be only visible when im moving my cursor above them. I found the program DisplayFusion and a few alternatives which fix the problem but they are all buggy and expensive (25$)
I was wondering if it's possible to to only activate autohide on 2 screens using rainmeter, because it's the last option I can think about which could work.

Any help is welcome and sorry if it's hard to understand what I mean. english isnt my native language. If anyone comes up with a working solution i am willing to give a small thank you via paypal (like 5-10€)

EDIT: I just read the "What rainmeter isn't" thread and I can see that my post doenst rly fit in this forum. anyways im not sure if there isnt a way or an idea which someone here knows, so i hope this post wont upset anyone ._.

As you've figured it out, Rainmeter isn't created for such tasks. I can't try this kind of software, because I'm using one single monitor, but you might want to try any of the following apps: https://alternativeto.net/software/displayfusion/

Thank you for you answer, any help is appreciated.
I've tried all of those programms, but sadly none of them worked.
Do you have an idea where I could find help with my problem, since this isn't exactly the right place to ask?

I suppose you might try TenForums: https://www.tenforums.com/
Or google the internet. There might be some other forums, too.

Exel3838,
Auto-hide cannot be controlled per screen. This is just how it works in Windows. If you set it to auto-hide it will auto-hide everywhere.

As of myself, I always need to quickly toggle the auto-hide feature. I am doing that by double clicking on the taskbar using a small background utility called 7+ Taskbar Tweaker https://rammichael.com/7-taskbar-tweaker. I have been using this app for more than five years to set and unset the auto-hide quickly. Saves time and nerves from going through several steps to hide/show it. Maybe you will find it useful as well.

Additionally you can control the auto-hide feature via Rainmeter using an external plugin HideTaskbar by jsmorley https://forum.rainmeter.net/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=22711. You can read how it works in the link.

Sorry for the late respond.

Thank you for you reply, better late then never. :)
Now I atleast know, that what i'm looking for doesnt exist (yet). The Taskbar Tweaker looks quite nice, I got to say. Probably will be using it in future.
Thanks again! :)

EDIT: The taskbartweaker is absolutley awsome!
