CPU
All of a sudden my Rainmeter overclocks (500%?). This only happens when I'm not using my computer. Can you help? Thanks.

Do you have some incriminated code? Or what the 500% is? It's a bit much, isn't it? Or am I missing something?Gregory2001 wrote:Code?

Re: CPU
There is no "offending skin". I have tried many skins with many layouts including yours. If I am on the computer there is no problem. This happens about 30 minutes after the computer remains idle. I have used Rainmeter for years and never had the problem before.

Not sure what you could be seeing. Rainmeter certainly can't "overclock" your system, and if it could safely overclock it 500% I'd soon be a billionaire.Gregory2001 wrote:There is no "offending skin". You might want to try this:
While rare, it is possible for the database of "counters" that is maintained by Performance Monitor in Windows to become damaged, which will cause the Perfmon plugin to stop functioning correctly.
In many cases, this can be corrected by "rebuilding" the database from the Windows command line.
Run cmd.exe, being sure to run "As administrator". At the command line, enter the following commands in order:
cd c:\windows\system32
lodctr /R
cd c:\windows\sysWOW64
lodctr /R
You should see the following results:
