Rainmeter creates a log automatically. You can see it on the About > Log screen, or you can find the entire file in your C:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Rainmeter folder. If the Rainmeter.log file is missing, then perhaps the problem is with permissions on the folders.

Are you saying you see this error when you try to open the Settings? You mentioned you can change other settings, but not the colors. So far you have not given enough information to work with. Can you post the entire Rainmeter.log file? Please make sure you try changing a color, so the errors will be in the log.

I'm seeing them in about log tab I took ownership of the rainmeter folder in my roaming folder but still no joy

happens when I click on a color

I restarted rainmeter and the color issue went away but I can't see a way to get calendar to show big number no errors in log file
