I am getting a warning that the Tapatalk API is out of date when connecting.

I'll look into it. You sure it is from "us" and not about "you"?

Well, I don't get anything like that on my phone or my Kindle, but to be on the safe side I installed the latest and greatest code for phpbb from their site yesterday.

Re: Tapatalk API REMOVED

jsmorley » November 28th, 2015, 2:01 pm

We have removed the TapaTalk functionality from the forums, and have removed Rainmeter from the TapaTalk community on their site.

TapaTalk just has massive problems with our new setup using https and Cloudflare, which makes the site both more secure and much faster and reliable. While the issues can no doubt be resolved, we have come to the following conclusions:

1) While TapaTalk is welcome to use whatever approach they like to "monetize" its use so they can make a living, we are not thrilled supporting functionality that requires a user to purchase a commercial product to use a feature of our forums. On balance, we are inclined to stay away from any commercial incursions in the Rainmeter Community.

2) With the new phpBB theme we have installed, the Rainmeter forums really look and work well in your browser on iOS or Android. it is not clear that TapaTalk has any real advantage over just connecting to the site in your browser.
