Skin: show forum users

Post by ikarus1969 »

Hi!

after some time of consuming of everybodys knowledge here i thought it's time to make a small contribution.

I made a skin which shows the user(s) currently viewing a forum. It just grabs the forums main page of the forums site and takes the info from the bottom:
Rainmeter - forums main page.jpg
In the rmskin attached i have included this forum and the forum of YoWindow.
The skin(s) graphics dynamically adapts to the max. width & height of the included meters.

Update 2013-04-04: on double-click on the icon the page is opened by the default browser

The basic design was borrowed from the iSteve theme from user minhtrimatrix.

Looking for @Include files that don't exist, so it won't load due to "no meters".

I'm sorry about that :?

I repaired the rmskin (included the .inc-file) and modified my post above.
Now it should install with all necessary files!

For the rainmeter-forum i have changed the page i grab the info from. It's no longer the main page but the "who is online" page.

So i had to adapt the meters for the YoWindow-forum and the lua-script as well.

Updated to v.0.91...
Now the Rainmeter forum skin is not showing any users...
YoWindows seems to be working okay.

Installed the previous version, and it works...
hope you can get this corrected, I would like to use this skin!

Suggestion: adding a link to the website when the icon is clicked.

Thanks

You probably need to make sure you have "logged in" in Internet Explorer as the "Who is online" page is only for logged in members.

To be honest, I think using "Who is online" in a skin is problematic. Since you have to be logged in via Internet Explorer, and who in their right mind uses Internet Explorer?
