Using FreeDiskSpace Type to detect CD/DVD Drive?

I am still confused as to how this measure option works. Is it something that you define, and/or does it change depend on whether media is removed? What I want to do is figure out a way for rainmeter to detect if a CD or DVD is in the optical drive, and have a text display differ depending on the state of the drive. (Display label if Disk is inserted, says that there is no Disk inserted when the drive is empty.)
