I've installed NotePad++ and can no longer edit the skins by opening them through the Rainmeter Manager. Hitting "edit" doesn't do anything. Also right clicking on the individual component and choosing edit doesn't do anything either.
I can manually find and open the txt file, make changes, save, and reload the skin but I was wondering if changing the system's default text editor is not recommended.
Thanks.

Re: cannot edit skins
Nevermind everyone. I was looking closer at it and I apparently had told NotePad++ to be the text editor for .txt files and not the .ini files that Rainmeter uses. The .ini files were set to an XML editor which I no longer have.
My mistake.
Everything works now.
Thanks,

Re: cannot edit skins
It is strongly recommended. I'm glad you have worked it out now, but in case something comes up later, you should open the Rainmeter.ini and edit the ConfigEditor key:
Code: Select all
[Rainmeter]
SkinPath=D:\Dropbox\Rainmeter\Skins\
ConfigEditor=C:\Program Files\Notepad++\Notepad++.exe
