About network activity

I think this will be a pretty noobie question. I noticed there is always some network activity going on even though all my programs and background programs/services are closed. It goes around several hundred bytes both upload and download every few seconds. Is that normal for any pc or should I start looking for viruses and stuffs? Appreciate the answer...

Very normal for any modern version of Windows.
