Installation Problem: vcredist.exe

I just bought a new laptop and I can't seem to install Rainmeter 2.2 or 2.3. When I run the installer, I get stuck on "Downloading vcredist.exe". The installation progress bar never moves. I've manually installed the Visual C++ library as instructed here, but to no avail. However, I'm not sure how to go about letting the installer go through my firewall. How would I go about doing that (assuming this would be the solution)? Thanks.

Try installing the correct vcredist package from: http://rainmeter.net/redist/
