[FIXED]Suddenly lost all tooltips in all skins in all themes

Post by Gonzo »

Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit
Rainmeter 2.2.0 r1116 32 bit

Noob.

Is there some file I can submit that would help with troubleshooting this weirdness? I'd like to provide more information.

Unfortunately, no matter what extension I rename the skin file to, your hostile web site won't let me attach it. I even changed the INI extension to USEDTOWORK and your web site still won't let me upload it. I get "The extension usedtowork is not allowed."

I've tried closing and relaunching Rainmeter and restarting my PC. No joy.

Here's an example of a tooltip from a Cobolt skin that stopped working:

Code: Select all

ToolTipText=Frequency:     [MeasureCPUMHz1] MHz#CRLF#
ToolTipType=1
ToolTipTitle=CPU Clock
ToolTipIcon=INFO
DynamicVariables=1
I put it in a Fan Speed skin that uses Speedfan. I used to get the CPU clock frequency as a tooltip when I hovered my cursor over the skin, but it doesn't work anymore. Neither does any other tooltip in any other skin in any other theme.

Weird, huh?

I just used a restore point that was set a few days previously and got my tooltips back. I use ERUNT rather than Microsoft System Restore.

You can only upload zips.
I have three rules when I'm trying to help you.
  • Don't get mad when you don't understand something
  • Be VERY specific with what you ask for.
    The more specific you are, the higher the quality of support you receive.
  • Do not just copy and paste what I put in examples and come back saying it doesn't work.
    It does work, but I purposely left blanks that you need to fill for your specific needs.
