Need Help with Blur !

Post by burnwell88 »

i so in the rainmeter manual ive seen this commands

!HideBlur (Config)
Hides the blur behind skin.
!ShowBlur (Config)
Shows the blur behind skin if it was hidden.
!ToggleBlur (Config)
Toggles the visibility of the blur behind the skin.
!AddBlur [Region] (Config)
Adds blur region to existing blur area.
!RemoveBlur [Region] (Config)
Removes blur region from existing blur area.

OK so what i am trying to do is :

i have a BLACK CIRCLE image png file with a transparency off 50%

the meter is

Code: Select all

[MeterUnderBackground1]
Meter=Image
X=0
Y=0
W=710
H=710
Greyscale=1
ImageTint=#BckColor1#
ImageName=BG1.png
Hidden=0
is it possible to add a blur effect but not to the picture a blur effect that will blur EVERYTHING behind the round black circle like an AERO effect from windows 7

something like the background off this skin

http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&global=1&q=rainmeter+blur#/d4npy12

but remember i don want it to be a square i want to be a circle maybe a hexagon but if a png IMIGE applyes the effect maybe i will want other shapes

Did you check this page in the manual? http://rainmeter.net/cms/Skins-AeroBlur_beta

It might shed some more light.

The blur effect is not "applied" to anything. It is sort of its own object, that you then put behind transparent or semi-transparent images in Rainmeter.

In my humble opinion, the blur effect is ugly and pointless. Microsoft is completely getting rid of it in Windows 8, which is fine by me...

..and making the PC users Windows 8 experience like using a phone which isn't fine by me... :twisted:
