I believe this issue was fixed with the latest beta.

The reason it keeps popping up is because there is some unsolved error(s) in one (or more) of your skins.

If you have the latest beta installed, and are still getting the log popping up when your desktop loads, then please post any error messages in your log so that we can help you fix them!

In Manage, use the Setting tab and turn on "Log to file". The refresh Rainmeter and then "Show log file". Then you can copy and paste from that. Turn off logging and delete the file in the same panel when you are done.

In a windows explorer window, enter this in the address bar

Code: Select all

%appdata%\Rainmeter
It will open the OS dependent location where some data files are stored. There you will find a plain text file called Rainmeter.log

You can also copy by hand the messages that appear in the popup.

Edit : Crossed posts with jsmorley
Hum. Show Log does bring up the about dialog. I can't select more than one line there :???:

The "Show log" button in the Setting panel will load the log in your text editor, not the log panel.

I suspect the error(s) are still there, but we changed the application to be much less aggressive about popping up the error dialog when there are non-fatal errors. You might still go through the log with the process above and see what is / was going on. I'm betting a missing font is the issue.
