The installer from this website will not work on my computer, or in any compatability mode. It gives the error: "this program can only be installed on versions of windows designed for the following processor archetectures: x86". Is there any way around this?

I assume you are on 64bit Windows. If so, then no. The custom installer for that skin only supports 32bit Windows. That is a very old skin, and perhaps uses some 32bit only utility program in it or something.
