An update to the Gadgets has been released!

7.7.0 - 2024-05-15
  • Enhanced Network Meter to enable monitoring 3 different Ethernet adapters (for laptops using docks and USB hubs).
  • Updated Weather Meter to work with latest weather.com API changes (as of 5/15/2024).

Requires Rainmeter 4.5.16 or later.

Upgrade Notes
If upgrading an existing Gadgets installation:
  • Network Meter Pro and Wireless Meter Pro: The NetMonitor service has not been updated in this release. Upgrading the service is optional. To upgrade, use the Network Settings to stop the service, uninstall it, and then reinstall.
  • If using any patches, such as the Gadgets Modernizer, download and reinstall the latest version of the patch.

I'm going to 'assume' we don't need the patch if we've already changed the weather api, correct?

I'd suggest patching anyway, since without patching the auto-updater will become a nuisance (if you use it). The Network Meter has been enhanced as well, though if you don't use laptops then it might not make any difference to you. You will not lose your settings if you upgrade.

Hello SilverAzide!

I hope all is well with you in these difficult times.

I love my colorful exquisite Gadgets, in my eyes, they are aesthetically perfect!

New graphics card in old computer, and I can't for the life of me find and change the settings in HWiNFO 6.42-4360 and Gadgets 5.5.1
I'm a bit older now and not so stress resistant and don't want to change too much with installing new versions of software and a gazillion new settings and congurations to fix.
Do you have some time to help me out?

I managed to change the weather gadget to the new API key! :D

Best regards,
redorbroder

Info:
Windows 10 (x64)
Rainmeter 4.5.18.3727 (x64)

I have read your guide carefully, but no cigar...
There is nothing about the new GPU listed in HWiNFO Sensor Status.

Hi Redorbroder! Good to hear from you again. Sorry to hear you are having issues!

Just to clarify my understanding, you are still using Gadgets 5.5.1, correct?

If so, because you have a new GPU card, you will need to completely reconfigure the HWiNFO sensor IDs for the GPU using the Shared Memory Viewer (SMV). To do this, you can open the GPU Meter Settings and click the links to show the HWiNFO variables file and the SMV. Then, find the GPU variables and update them to match what is shown in the "Sensor ID and instance" values and the individual "Entry IDs" for each item in the SMV.

If your SMV looks like this, for example:
Screenshot 2024-05-19 112335.png
Then your configuration would be this:

Code: Select all

; sensor ID and instance
HWiNFO-GPU0-SensorId=0xe0002000
HWiNFO-GPU0-SensorInstance=0xb

; entry IDs
; GPU temperature (degrees)
HWiNFO-GPU0-Temp=0x1000000
Let me know if you run into any issues.

Hello SilverAzide!

Great to hear from you, many moons...
Also really good that Gadgets is alive and kicking! Thanks for your quick reply, I really appreciate it!
I have written down your tips and will dive into the settings as soon as possible.
Spring and summer came in a few days so busy with the house in the countryside.
I'll get back to you in a week or so and let you know how it went with the new GPU.
Warm greetings in 22° Celsius from me and Sweden, the weather report promises more sun and warmth!

Hey, really like this skin. Been using it since Modern Gadgets was retired.

I just have one question/request. Is it possible to add cached memory usage to the CPU meter? In task manager, you can see how much memory is used as cache, but is not active. It would be nice to see that in the CPU Meter gadget as well. If possible, stack it in the same bar as ram usage. Maybe a green bar extending from the blue memory bar or a separate bar like the page file. Not sure if this is actually doable or not. But, would be cool.
