[Suggestion]Add default action cursors to MouseActionCursorName

Post by death.crafter »

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/uxguide/inter-mouse#compound-mouse-interactions

The above is a list of cursors available in windows. MouseActionCursorName should support all these cursors instead of:
In addition, several built-in Windows cursors may be used without needing any file name or extension. Hand, Text, Help, Busy, Cross, Pen
https://docs.rainmeter.net/manual-beta/mouse-actions/#MouseActionCursorName

Stating more appropriately, using the current mouse cursor theme and all the available cursors would be better than just a few ugly cursors

I know this post is a decade old, but still, I think this would be useful.

While you are at it, is it possible to use the current cursor theme in Rainmeter? Like I have installed custom cursors, but the Rainmeter shows the aero ones.

I can't find anything on loading any "themes" or "schemes" in the Microsoft docs, so I am not sure this is possible. In fact the functions should grab the current cursors loaded in the system.

Could you try restarting your PC after you loaded any custom cursors, and then see if Rainmeter sees them?

I use custom cursor theme instead of the default one and in my Rainmeter skins custom cursors appear with every available at the moment option:
MouseActionCursorName=
Hand, Text, Help, Busy, Cross, Pen

Windows 7 Pro (64-bit)
Rainmeter 4.5.11.3602 (64-bit)

Notes:
• I have the custom cursors "installed" through .inf file (these ones https://www.deviantart.com/vladsukhetskyi/art/Black-cursor-795861907)
• I have mouse shadows enabled
• I have not enabled themes to change mouse pointers.
