Error: Skin Path not found in Rainmeter.ini ??

Hello, I am a new user, trying to start with rainmeter

I want to load a new skin (Gnometer) from rainmeter Recommended Skin Suites
Installation of the skin failes with message:
Error: Skin Path not found in Rainmeter.ini

Looking at Rainmeter.ini I have:

[Rainmeter]
DisableVersionCheck=0
Logging=1
SkinPath=C:\Users\my Home\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\

What can be wrong????

I'm no expert, so this is a pretty wild guess:
Have you tried putting quotes around your SkinPath? The space in "my Home" might be throwing it off.
(At least, spaces in file paths throw things off in skin files; I don't know much about Rainmeter.ini, so it might not be the issue.) But you could try editing it to:

SkinPath="C:\Users\my Home\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\"

That's all I've got to try I'm afraid.
Have you attempted installing other skins besides gnometer? Did others work alright or did you get the same error message?

Unfortunately it doesn't help.

I tried several options of your proposal and used other skins too
but get every time the same error.

Now I am frustrated.

So I will use only the basic Rainmeter illustro
That is quite a good sidebar.

Sorry it's not working out for you.

At this point, if it was me I would uninstall and reinstall Rainmeter. If that doesn't change anything, it would have to be something with your system configuration that is causing the problem.

You might try contacting some Developers through the Rainmeter IRC channel (there's a "Web-Based IRC" link at the top right of the forums page). They would have more insight into problems of this type.

The path you're using should be the default path for your account, so try deleting the SkinPath= line altogether.

(Also, make sure to close Rainmeter before you save your changes to Rainmeter.ini.)
