Manual Skin Installations Do Not Work

Post by UssjTrunks »

I used to use Rainmeter quite extensively a few years ago on XP, but I'm new to this latest version of the software. I am having problems with with manual skin installations. Skins that come with an installer work fine, but I have yet to get one manually installed theme to work. They don't even appear in the "themes" menu.

The theme I am trying to install is http://ussjtrunks.deviantart.com/#/d3img0c if that helps. However, I am having the same problem with all skins that don't come with an installer.

I am copying the unzipped folder into "Documents/Rainmeter/Skins" on Windows 7, 64 bit.

I have tried reinstalling Rainmeter, but no luck.

Read the bottom part of this page: http://rainmeter.net/cms/Rainmeter101-AddingSkins then let us know if you are still having any problems. Be careful, "theme" may not mean what you think it means. http://rainmeter.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2232

I've tried refreshing, exiting/reopening Rainmeter, restarting computer, and reinstalling Rainmeter. The themes still don't appear.

I have also tried pasting subfolders and even individual .ini files into the skins folder to see if they would appear, but nothing.

There is no "theme" included with that set of skins.

Just put the folders in the right places in My Documents\Rainmeter\Skins, refresh Rainmeter, and load the skins you want from the set one at a time using the Rainmeter notification area context menu under "Configs", or use RainBrowser, which has been added to your Windows Start menu under "Rainmeter".

Thanks a lot, problem solved. I was looking under "themes" in the context menu the whole time. :?
