No folder in Documents?

Post by Narsiox »

I tried installing Rainmeter, and it installs right(I think) but there's no folder in my Documents, and when I installed it it said something like "Could not find C:/something/something/Documents/Rainmeter/Skins"
So I tried to uninstall and then install it again, I did that about twice, and it didn't work. I also tried installing it from a mirror site, but that didn't work either.
I had Rainmeter once before and it worked perfectly, but I think I may have uninstalled it wrong or something, which is why it won't install right this time. Also, when I click on the Rainmeter icon, nothing happens.
Help please?
(Using Windows Vista, 32bit by the way)
And I'm not sure what version of Rainmeter I'm trying to use, but I just downloaded it today, so my guess would be the newest one.
Thank you~

It didn't work. I already tried uninstalling it and then re-downloading it. Did you read my entire post?
But I followed everything it said there and it still didn't install a folder into my Documents.

Try running the rainmeter installer in admin. It sounds more like a permissions error then anything. (Even though the my documents folder shouldnt be write protected like that)
I have three rules when I'm trying to help you.
  • Don't get mad when you don't understand something
  • Be VERY specific with what you ask for.
The more specific you are, the higher the quality of support you receive.
  • Do not just copy and paste what I put in examples and come back saying it doesn't work.
It does work, but I purposely left blanks that you need to fill for your specific needs.

If your running windows 7 then you simply need to right click and Run As Admin

Im not sure about Vista

and you need to be on an admin account on WinXP

Open your start-menu, type in %APPDATA%\Rainmeter and press Enter. Delete the Rainmeter.ini in the window that opens.

Now start Rainmeter.

It says in the first post I'm using Vista. :/
And I'm already using an admin account, already tried clicking "Run as Admin"

In the window that opens, there's a folder for Themes and a thing that says "Rainmeter" and when I hover over it, it says "type: Configuration Settings"
Do I delete that?
There's only two things in that window that opens...

Yeah, get rid of that and start Rainmeter.
