Access Bar

Translucent (Frosted Glass)

abChameleon.png
Desktop Colors (Chameleon)

Version 1.2021.10.31
  • Unified mouse scroll down action as the method to select Time, Date, Weather and Media formats
  • Expanded time/date formats:
    locale-time, locale-date, 12/24 hour (with or without seconds), m/d/y, or d/m/y (scroll down on date or time to set)
  • Expanded weather to include hybrid style (scroll down on access bar weather to set)
  • Due to my setting variables values, rather than using direct Chameleon measure values, it is necessary to change your wallpaper after first loading the skin to activate new colors.
  • Nearly ready for DA release... Happy Halloween!
Version 1.2021.10.29
  • Added context menu options to both variants
    Chameleon: Now can select from 2 color sets | Open variables file to edit
    Frosted Glass: Now can select from 3 type options (Blur | Acrylic | Clear) | Open variables file to edit
  • Added gradient color bar for the Chameleon variant
  • All skins will update when switching variants or context menu options
  • Corrected centering for launch icons
  • Resized media and weather details skins and added a smaller 'Close' icon to lower right area
  • Minor code cleaning
Version 1.2021.10.28
  • 2 Variants:
    Chameleon uses Windows accent color (must select to use Accent color in Windows settings)
    Translucent uses the Frosted Glass plugin (may lag on some systems)
  • 12/24 hours clock
  • Date | Windows Calendar
  • Weather | Weather Details | Web
  • Media Interface: NowPlaying | WebNowPlaying
  • Common Links: Docs | DnLoads | Pics | Music | Videos | Net | This PC | All Apps
  • Autohide feature
  • Resizable (via slow mouse scroll!)

Nice looking skin, will give this a try. Thanks for sharing. :thumbup: :D

Personally I prefer the Segoe Fluent Icons though! :p :sly:

Thanks!
Segoe Fluent Icons are fancier...

I was trying to 'K. I. S. S.' this version, and went with a simpler font. :D

Thanks AC! :bow:

I tried to keep it simple to use and modify for different resolutions.
Would be interested to hear how it works with higher resolution displays.

I usually release skins here and hope for feedback before offering it on DA. ;-)

What am I doing wrong? I installed your collection and loaded the Chameleon variant but I still get a blue background to the top bar (see attached). And yes I did select "Automatically pick an accent color from my background in the 'Windows|Personalization|Colors' settings menu (Win 10).

My own skins on the right seem to get the correct set of colours from Chameleon (see above) so what is going on?

Hmm.. Not sure why it is not responding. It should detect when you change wallpapers.
I use the SysColor plugin to detect a change of the color, and test it using 'Slideshow' in personalization; 'Next desktop background' option from the desktop context menu.

Code: Select all

[MeasureColorTrigger]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=SysColor
ColorType=Aero
;DWM_COLOR
DisplayType=RGB
OnChangeAction=[!UpdateMeasure mDesktop]
DynamicVariables=1
Disabled=#DisableChameleonColors#
It has been a while since I worked with Chameleon, and this was how I use it on my Win10 system.
Maybe I need to use a different method. :???:

And so it does! It happily changes the colours when the wallpaper is changed. My bad. I was too lazy to try changing the wallpaper to see if that changed the colours being used. For what it's worth, my skins have a measure to check whether the colours being used by the skin are the same as those being returned by the Chameleon Plugin. Something along the lines of:

Code: Select all

[mCheckForChange]
Measure=String
String=(#Col1-FromChameleon#)
IfMatch=(#Col1-UsedBySkin#)
IfNotMatchAction=[!UpdateMeasure mSetChameleonColors]
DynamicVariables=1
