Segoe Fluent Font Icon Selector

Post by sl23 »

Here's a little tool I made to use for selecting some of the font icons used with this font.
  • The left column allows you to select a category of content. I've tried to loosely categorise the icons, but they may not be all in the correct place. R-click a category to open the config file in your editor to allow adding your own icons.
  • The right column shows a list of icons in the selected category. L-click an icon to show a preview in three sizes of 20, 30 and 40 pixels.
Here you can click on the Page buttons to move page to page. Currently I have set 5 pages for each category, though they are not full, so there is room to add your own.
  • The Links section has various links to some sites suggested in the Rainmeter docs for more font icons.
  • You can add further categories by editing the Meters.inc file. There is a Template file included, if you just want to rename that and add icons to it to make it easier.
    To create a new category:
    1. Open the Meters.inc file.
    • Find the "Contents" Section.
    • Copy the Section for [Template] and rename it to whatever you want.
    • Finally, create a new INI file in the skins folder with the EXACT name you gave the section above. You need to edit this file and change the [Title] Section to the same name as the filename previously mentioned.
EDIT: Update - 2021.9.4:
  • Now when you click on the Icon, it automatically copies the text required to use in your skin, or whatever file you are working on in your text editor. Thanks to death.crafter for the solution.
  • Also added 12 'New' categories for adding your own icon font entries. Hopefully you shouldn't need the Template skin now, but I left it in case it was required still.

hey
I dropped in here to get ideas, but instead found this icon widget.

Really cool.

Likely time consuming to make, so, thanks. :great:

Thanks. It did take about a week of all my spare time. And a weekend spent copying codes! Lol
