Need help If anyone here have solution to issue experiencing on my computer.

Issue :
After applying MS Update patch release on Sept 2020, the screen start flickering.

Action Taken:
Update the display driver to latest version, issue still persist.
Tried changing Rainmeter setting, issue still there.

Info :
Rainmeter version 3.3
HP Elitebook 820 G3
Windows 7

Remove / Uninstall Rainmeter flicker is gone but when re-installing Rainmeter back the issue comes again.

Appreciate for any help or guidance on how to fix this flickering issue.

Did you try to install 4.3 or 4.4b?

Yes already try installing ver 4.3 but still same issue, apologies for my bad to missed out on this.
Strange part is if the applied patches was uninstall, the issue still remain. Only thing work is to uninstall Rainmeter which is not an option for me.

Have tried playing with setting's refresh rate and other but still at a lost.

Hmmm.. By the way! How many monitors you have? And what your skins does? I mean, maybe there is TranslucentTaskbar or something else. I've got flicker sometimes on one of my displays, when i move some applications which using d3d but i did not associate it with rainmeter. Maybe problem hidden in a out of date plugin that you use? And i think you already did, but i can't skip this thing - do you keep your video drivers up to date?:)

And if you can, make a short video how do it works. With runned skins or just with naked rainmeter in background? Have you to move a skins to get flicker or it causes itself? 3rd party plugins?

I did not use additional screen just the laptop screen.
The rainmeter setting was for a simple use.
The skin just to display the Logon Name that's all, a simple one.

And the flicker happen when I have multiple application open.
It looks like all the application is trying to overlap each other.

Do you have Use Hardware Acceleration checked or not in the Rainmeter Settings? And do you by any chance have an NVidia video card? Try unchecking Use Hardware Acceleration, restarting Rainmeter, and see if the problem persists.

Yeah, but you aren't on Windows 7 or installed the MS Update patch release on Sept 2020 like the OP, now are you? I didn't imply that the hardware acceleration or having an NVidia is the culprit, just tried to cover all the possible causes for such a behavior. You never know where the "rabbit" is hiding...

Hi Guys, sorry on late update.

Engage MS Support to troubleshoot and found Rainmeter have conflict with the Windows 7 Sept 2020 patches.
Uninstalling following 3 patches that was applied got the problem solved.

KB4577010 - Patch or IE
KB4577053 - Patch for Office 2013
KB4577051 - Monthly Rollup Update

Hope above info could be of help to those experience the same issue.

For those who tried to help is much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

I know this is an annoying thing from now on, but I couldn't resist to post it.
Recommend to go further from Windows 7, upgrade and not to use it anymore.
