It took me a while (and it shouldn't have), but once this discussion happened, I will always keep the nested [#variable] syntax' advantages in the back of my head. Used with moderation, this can do wonders. And from solving a dependency chain between variables (like my posted case) to updating a dependent variable in the same option as its dependency (this current case) it's only a step, relatively easy to anticipate.
