Probably reinstalling the older version of the skin on the top of the one with the correct key (which they changed back then, but forgot about it).
Yep, makes sense.

It doesn't explain why it happened for more users at once, although when it comes to a large number of users, some users doing the same thing at about the same time is statistically possible. Of course, it would be quite a coincidence indeed.
Statistically definitely possible, but quite improbable.
But as said, doesn't really matter...

Well, mine does, due to the way it is built.
Yes, there is a change, but not in the way Rainmeter weather skins work, but in the 'authenthication' used by weather.com to "validate" and provide weather info, something that most skins use these days. In other words, the "default" API key used by weather.com to display the Weather.com JSON data has changed. So, to make it work, you either:
- switch to a skin that is capable to get the data from the weather.com's page source (and not just the weather.com's JSON file - my weather skin can toggle between these two methods through a simple variable modification, for example)
- take a look at weather.com's page source to find out the key it uses to display its "normal" webpage (the webpage you see when visiting the site; the info used by that page comes from the JSON data as well, but the latter needs an access key as you probably know already)
Dude, I use Rainmeter since 2009. I absolutelly love it and i must say the constant changes to the Weather Channel API are tiresome, however, I just had to register to say thank you. It worked on the spot.
PS: ppl, just find your weather variables or ini file and change the APIKey to: 21d8a80b3d6b444998a80b3d6b1449d3
This is only working for now March 223rd 2022. Take care

Thank you very much for the appreciation, I'm honored.
Never knew I was providing help indirectly as well, all the way to reddit, considering I'm not a user of the platform!
Anyway, all the people here on the forum are awesome, I'm not the only one helping out and providing useful info. And of course, I learned new things as well from here, just like everybody else.

No problem - as long as we can get the weather from there, there will always be solutions for whatever changes might occur.
So the the Cortana weather skin is: VCloudsWeather2 but it doesn't have the API part to fix
This skin is custom made to be attached to any of the Tech-A Tech-B or Tech-C, that's why is hard to find a fix for it, any help is appreciated.
Is there a question in here? You mention a half-dozen weather skins, but it's not clear what you want.
If you are trying to fix an old weather skin (i.e., not updated since January 2022), then you need to use the templates that JSMorley's Large Clean Weather uses (included in that skin and also here). Instructions for converting old skins can be found on the forums as well, if you need help. If you are just trying to update VCloudsWeather2, I think the original author has already updated it with the latest templates, so you can just grab it from DA.
