Crashing after Windows 10 update

After the latest Windows 10 update, Rainmeter now crashes immediately upon starting. The Windows log shows the following:

Not sure what additional information I can provide. I have tried re-installing Rainmeter and rebooting and get the same result.

Not quite sure. I suspect this is not a general problem with the latest update of Windows 10, or we would be flooded with hundreds or thousands of these reports.

One thing Windows Update does is replace your video drivers when it updates, if it thinks what you have is "old". I have seen cases where Windows doesn't do the best job of this.

What I would suggest trying is going to the support site for your video chip / card, download and install the latest release drivers for Windows 10.

Then reboot and see if Rainmeter behaves better.

I would also delete or rename the Rainmeter.ini file in your %APPDATA%\Rainmeter folder, and see if Rainmeter works with just the default skins loading. If so, then there is some issue with a particular skin you created or downloaded, and we can try to isolate that and see what is going on.

Running Windows 10 Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.228)
4.2.0 r3111 64-bit (Jul 8 2018) - English (1033)
Windows 10 Pro 1803 64-bit (build 17134) - English (4105)

No issues
