Understand, you simply can't have a skin that closes itself based on some condition, since what is ever going to open it again? Once it's closed, it's closed.
So you have two choices.
1) Have some OTHER skin test for the condition and have that skin open and close the first one. That's ok, unless that "monitor" skin isn't running for some reason, in which case, see above...
2) Have the skin in question not "close", but just go minimal. Stop measuring the media player that isn't there, and don't display meters since there is nothing to display. If the media player isn't running, the skin just kinda goes to sleep, waiting, waiting for the media player to show up again, at which point it will pop back to life.
