Re: GMailNotify 2.0
Hi,
I'm also having the same issue with it stuck at checking.
I have the correct user/pass as when I test with:
URL=https://#GMailID#:#GMailPassword#@gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom
swapping out the ID/password it connects and I see the usual xml.
I don't have 2 factor set but did see a warning about an insecure app trying to connect so I have now enabled "Access for less secure apps" but it is still stuck at Checking.
Scratch that. It has just started working. Maybe it takes a while for the allow less secure apps to take effect.

How does one set up an Application ID for Rainmeter?jsmorley wrote:That is generally going to mean that you either have the wrong Google user id or password, or you have two-step authentication set up in Google / GMail and need to set up an Application ID for Rainmeter.
Cheers!

Re: GMailNotify 2.0
Thanks, I think I'm asking the wrong question. I do NOT have 2-step verification on. I am using the right username and password, yet the skin still indicates "Checking." I can click on "Gmail" in the skin and open my email just fine.
I'm seeing this issue with various gmail skins, so am almost certain the issue is on Google's side. Just have no clue what exactly.
EDIT: For whatever reason, Google would not save the "Allow Less Secure Apps" setting. Seems to be working now.
