Yahooapis OAuth 1 Bypass

Post by alphamachina »

I've noticed that a lot of skins use the "http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?w=&u=f" URL for weather and forecast in their code, but as of March 15, 2016, Yahoo has started requiring OAuth 1. You would need to create an account and then create an app in order to authentication for weather information retrieval, but this isn't necessary, especially simply for RSS.

All you will need to do is replace:

http://weather.yahooapis.com/

with:

http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/

And your script will populate your skin with Yahoo's weather data once again.
