Is there any way to get the windows desktop plugin on 10?

I used to use the desktop plugin with the optional windows download desktop manager on 7 until it was no longer supported in Rainmeter. Then I switched to a third party desktop manager. It was great to be able to alter or hide/show different skins on different desktops. Now desktop switching is built into win 10. Can I expect the plugin to support the switching to start working again on 10's built in desktop switching? If not, is there a workaround?
