Problems with skin positions

Okay, so this is what my desktop looks like normally. All skins in place:

Unfortunately, any skins that I have set to 'Bottom' will minimize when I click the 'show desktop' button (which I do often). In this case, that would be the background cutout and visualizer:

I can keep things from minimizing by setting them to 'On Desktop', but another issue appears. When I click 'show desktop' everything stays in place, however if I then try to view any window previews in my taskbar (which I do often), the skins cover them up:

Is there no way to set the skins to not minimize when I click the 'show desktop' button and stay behind all other windows?
