Audio plugin w/ more detailed audio track progress?

Hello!

I'm currently working on a skin that uses transformation matrices to rotate track and artist text around on screen, and one thing I want to do is to rotate this text according to how far along the track is. I have a skin that does this just fine now, but what I've found is that because the progress of the track is only fetched in full percentage points, the movement is pretty jarring. is there a plugin that fetches this data that fetches decimals past the percentage points? as in, 100.00%?

I can think of a work-around using track length instead of track progress, but with shorter tracks it wouldn't be nearly ass effective.
