Anybody recognize these icons?

Post by jsmorley »

Over time I have collected, edited and renamed some weather icons I like for Yahoo Weather skins.

Trouble is, I'm not sure where the basic original icons came from now, but I would like to be sure I credit the original author whenever I use them.

Anybody recognize this set of icons? Again, I have done a little editing and mixing and matching over time, and renamed them to work as I like for Yahoo's codes. The basic clouds, rain, snow, sun and moon icons came from somebody though, I just can't remember who or where.

Reminds me an iconset from Meteocat, so, I guess the icons were done by them as well.

Update 6 years later, after the resurrection of the question:
Looking at the portfolio of the designer of Meteocat there is no way they could design the icons. Their works are primarily cheap UI for websites. The work itself was published in 2013 and the icons appeared years earlier.

Yeah, that sure looks like them. I wonder where I got the set of icons from. Clearly not "public domain" icons in any case...

We need to talk VClouds into producing a "realistic" set of weather icons with all the codes that match the list from Yahoo above, and release it for Rainmeter with the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-Share Alike 3.0 license. His are some of the nicer of the "realistic" ones I have seen for Rainmeter.

I have seen them around on various sites which have weather section, but none of them included author name of those icons. I guess those icons are included in one of the weather widgets for web-sites.
You could probably write a message to the Meteocat and ask them about the icons.
