Non-English Locales

Post by smurfier »

Need some help from you non-english folks. More specifically, I need the help of anyone who has Windows set to use a different locale or language.

Below is a test skin. Once you install the package a "Click Here To Copy" button will appear on your desktop. Please do so and paste the results here.

Just testing one of the abilities of the time measure to see if it works in a reliable manor.

This is the song that never ends. It just goes on and on my friends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was, and they'll continue singing it forever just because . . .

The point is to see what the results are when the time is set to a different locale.

So, it is connected to location settings, right? By the way my location is set to United States.

I'm guessing so. With enough information I'm hoping to be able to extract the month names of a user's currently set locale. This used to be possible with Lua, but it was dangerous, being capable of breaking other loaded skins.

i can't remember if these format codes ever worked. maybe they did for Windows 98, but i am pretty sure they didn't.

to avoid communication problems with us non-English folks you might want to include a measure that reads a user's locale.

Code: Select all

[MeasureLocale]
Measure=Registry
RegHKey=HKEY_CURRENT_USER
RegKey=Control Panel\International
RegValue=LocaleName
UpdateDivider=-1
