Question about performance?

I'm new to Rainmeter and I was just wondering if/how it affects performance and start-up time.

It depends on the number and type of skins being displayed by rainmeter. As a gross generalisation, the bigger the images being displayed the more RAM will be used and the more frequently the skins are updated the more CPU resources will be used. I suspect the number of ini files you have in the Rainmeter\Skins folder and whether or not the skins make use of @Resources folders affects the start-up time but I'm not sure. However, those really are nothing more than generalisations and the best way to find out how it affects performance and start-up time on your machine is to load a few skins and see what happens.
