Remove font smoothing/antialiasing?

Post by Yakov »

How can I remove the font smoothing on rainmeter and use just aliased text? Some of the text on rainmeter widgets are hard to interpret or just looks better not smoothed.

Go in the STYLES section and remove AntiAlias=1 with a ";" before or delete the line if you are sure you don't need it in the future.

Hm, I can't edit now... don't I go to manage and then edit on any .ini file? Right click on widget and then Edit skin? Nope.

I don't know if you have already edited a skin, if no, that's not so difficult, scary maybe at first sight, but that's really not so difficult.
You can use Notepad, Ctrl+h (find and replace) type AntiAlias=1 and substitute with ;AntiAlias=1 or simply substitute it with nothing.

Sure, I have edited before. That's how I made the text green. But now either it's not working or I simply forgot how to edit. When I click edit nothing happens.

Maybe a wrong file association, if you try to open the file what happens? :???:

Yup, that was it. Wrong file association, or missing shortcut or something. Thanks.
