So, i had rainmeter running on my netbook for a few months, but i decided to uninstall it due to it taking up 70% of my CPU usage and making the entire thing unbearably slow.
Problem is. now that it is uninstalled, when it boots up it shows all fine, but when it gets to the main desktop, nothing shows except the pointer and a black screen. I am able to open task manager and use that, but i am unable to do anything else on it. Task manager also shows that most services, arent running and i am unable to start them.
I would re-install the entire system if i could, but i got no disk with it for some reason, so i cannot figure out how to fix this issue... Does anyone have any idea of how i can fix this?

open the command prompt from the task manager. (file->new task->cmd.exe)
type
sfc /scannow
hit enter
whatever your problems are, it is highly unlikely they are related to Rainmeter.

did you try this?
else get yourself a bootable Linux cd, to make a backup of your data.
then download one of the free Recovery cds for the various versions of Windows. you can read an article here http://techfleece.com/2012/10/18/download-windows-7-install-disks-legally-for-free/. i can not guarantee the downloads there are legit.

These images are on DigitalRiver servers (Microsoft Partner), so these are legit and safe for download..moshi wrote:download one of the free Recovery cds for the various versions of Windows. you can read an article here http://techfleece.com/2012/10/18/download-windows-7-install-disks-legally-for-free/. i can not guarantee the downloads there are legit.
BTW. It's full Windows 7* installtion ISO, not "only" Recovery disc.
