Only .rmskin uploads allowed on deviantART

After a long time and dozens of requests to deviantART staff, they have finally made the Rainmeter section of the site Rainmeter on deviantART only allow .rmskin files as acceptable submissions.

This should greatly reduce the problems we have been having with .zip and .rar files containing malware on deviantART.

We are also taking other steps to protect our users, including a "blacklist" of skins that are identified as a problem. The new SkinInstaller in the current beta and later will not install these .rmskins, but will instead warn the user to delete the file.

In related news, we are working furiously on a new integrated tool in Rainmeter to make creating a .rmskin file out of your creations much easier. Stay tuned in the next week or two as we move toward our release of Rainmeter 2.3.

I just wanna say thank you for all your efforts on the new .rmskin files and on the new SkinInstaller.
And it's sooooo nice to see new skins on DA with "Comments enabled" :) .

Just a note, .rmskin files are only upload-able in the Rainmeter section of deviantART

Why would you want to upload one in another category?

In order to "market" it to another group of people. i.e. A charms bar for pre-Win 8 users or a start menu for Win 8/8.1 users.

By posting those works in the Win 8 sections you could reach out to a group of people who may not know about Rainmeter yet. Rmskin's can be uploaded in zip's to other sections but it seems a bit odd since rmskin's are basically renamed zip's...
