It's from a compilation of different skins, all edited to look similar to eachother. Which is why the version you loaded first (the original) works, and the one that's not working isn't. So the guy or girl that compiled them edited them.

Also, I've just realized that the 12-hour version of that clock is not, in fact, a 12-hour clock.

I'm not clear what this is "supposed" to look like.

I'm just not sure where to go with this. Those calculated sizes and positions seem to be a bit of a mess, it is using that HalfLife font for AM/PM when the font only contains numbers and images, and I'm not sure how best attack this without just starting over, using a single font that looks nice and has both numbers and letters, and probably losing that scaling stuff.
