Custom WistfulWriter CPU and RAM Test Chamber Sign Problems

Post by spennyb100 »

I am assuming this is a fairly simple problem to fix, but I am really inexperienced when it comes to Rainmeter, so please, bear with me.

I'm using a compilation of skins, and having trouble with one specific piece. Namely, the CPU and RAM Test Chamber Sign by WistfulWriter, as mentioned above. Every time I try to load it up, I get a series of disconcerting errors.

Here are the messages.

Thanks!

I'm sorry, but there is just no way you are ever going to get any help this way. Nobody has ever heard of Test Chamber Sign by WistfuWriter, you post no link to the skins or anything at all that helps us to help you.

You need to contact WistfuWriter directly, and see if the author has an ideas about what you are running into.

I'm as much concerned about wasting your time as mine. We can often help to debug some skin that isn't working right, but we need the skin(s) in question at a minimum.

You think that'll be enough information to address my problem?

If you can post a link to the original skin, or maybe even better zip up your entire folder containing the skin in My Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\???, host it on http://mediafire.com or somewhere, and post a link here, there is every chance we can help.

You just need to help us to help you. What version of Rainmeter are you running? What version of Windows? Have you changed anything in the original skin? The more you can give us the skins and the information about what is going on, the better chance we have of helping.

Thank you for replying to me so quickly. I actually found a workaround to the first problem while uploading my zipped skin folder, but a new, unrelated problem has arisen.

The problem is that multiple strings are overlapping, as seen here. The only way I know how to fix this would be just altering the XY values for the strings, but the way this was designed, I can't.
Here is the entire skin folder. The two files that I need help with are under

Code: Select all

Aperture Labs Desktop\Aperture Labs Information Signs\Secondary Clock
and

Code: Select all

Aperture Labs Desktop\Aperture Labs Information Signs\Secondary Date.
Thanks again!

Those are two separate skins, so they can just be dragged where you want them after you load them.

Ah, never mind. I was loading the wrong skins.

Let me look at this a bit.

Did you change anything from the original skin(s)?

These X and Y settings for the meters look strange.
