Just FYI. I don't see it was mentioned here. theAzack9 has created a nice skin to convert svg to actual Rainmeter meters. Here it is

You might want to check Active Colors' suggestion regarding svgs to shapes too, I totally forgot about that! Not sure if it'll be better than working with images since they're still 300+ shapes to display, but you loose nothing by trying.
